According to a British company who posted a job advert, there have been 10,000 people from across the world who have applied for a job as a paintball bullet tester. UKPaintball, who have got more than 60 paintballing venues in Britain, said that they were stunned by the response to their search for a ‘human bullet impact tester’.
Applications for the £40,000 a year job testing the impact of paintballs have come from candidates not just from Britain, but also from as far away as  United States, Canada and India.
UKPaintball owner Justin Toohig said ‘This incredible response is the last thing we expected when we posted the advert. We couldn’t have predicted that so many people in the UK and beyond would want to get shot for a living.’
Mr Toohig said that a variety of different skills have been cited by the applicants to try and prove that they were capable of the job, this included one applicant who said that he was fat, which would make him easier to hit.
Mr Toohig added ‘We’ve had individuals hoping to secure the job including an ex-army soldier boasting previous experience of guns and weaponry… and an ex-magician’s assistant who was once almost shot for real in an illusion that went horribly wrong. It’s going to be a real struggle attempting to whittle down the thousands of applicants to just one.’
