Witness appeal following village brawl

Police are appealing for information after a mass brawl outside a village pub left a woman with a fractured hip.

Officers were called to the Village Inn pub, Marks Square, Tarleton at 7.30pm on Saturday, June 9th to reports that a group of up to 20 people were fighting.

During the brawl a woman, aged 57, was struck to the face and fell to the floor fracturing her hip.

Sgt Craig Appleton, of South police, said: “This is a shocking incident where a completely innocent bystander has been subjected to an unprovoked attack that left her with serious injuries and we would encourage members of the public to come forward if they witnessed this incident or if they have any information which could assist.”
