Witness appeal after Leyland collision

Lancashire police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in Leyland.

Police were called around 5.20am on Friday (October 6) following reports of an accident at the junction of Leyland Road and Croston Road.

A Lexus car travelling southbound on Leyland Road had been involved in a collision with a 61-year-old woman.

The woman suffered a serious injury to her ankle and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for close to two hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Police are appealing for information following the incident.

Temp Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Leyland.

“A 61-year-old woman has suffered a serious lower leg injury and we want to establish exactly what has happened.

“If you witnessed the collision please call us.”
