Last year’s Winter Playday

Families are invited to Chorley’s annual Winter Playday event this February which will be jam-packed with fun and free activities.

Chorley Council is hosting this event which will see plenty of organisations involved to provide fun for all of the family this February half term.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Our annual Winter Playday is back and this year we hope that many people will join us on the day and have lots of fun.

“We love putting on fun events for members of our community and we have got so many people involved to make it a great day out.

“From arts and crafts to spectacular demonstrations, this event is sure to be fun for the entire family, plus, there are refreshments available.

“We are encouraging as many people as possible to join us in the Lancastrian in the Town Hall for the day of fun on Wednesday 14 February from 11.30am-3pm.

“Last year we had over 500 people attend our Winter Playday and we are very excited to welcome more people this year.”

The Winter Playday is co-delivered by many partners who support young people’s health with community groups and local businesses. There are plenty of activities and stalls lined up including; arts and crafts, clay modelling, games, fitness with Active Nation UK, first aid skills with Chorley’s Angels and stalls with Duxbury Golf club, Lancashire Adult Learning and Homestart. Plus, there will be the very popular face painting stall so make sure you get there early.

There will also be a number of shows and demonstrations from a local magician, Chorley Gymnastics Club and Gillies Mar-Jan Dance School and there will be a number of special guests including Chorley FC’s Victor Magpie, who will be inviting some lucky residents to one of Chorley’s home games.

The activities are designed for those aged 0-12 but the whole family can join in with the fun.

The event is in the Lancastrian in the Town Hall on Wednesday 14 February from 11.30am-3pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
