Winter bird watch walk with Rangers

0

St Helens Council’s Ranger Service is inviting residents on a bird watching walk in the beautiful Sankey Valley Country Park.

Start the new year in a healthy way on a leisurely four and a half mile walk, as Rangers describe the various winter birds present along the way.

These will likely include among dozens of others Great Crested Grebes (photographed by Dave Owen at Eccleston Mere), Buzzards, Willow Tits and perhaps even a hard-to-spot Kingfisher.

Meet at the Heritage Visitor Centre, Blackbrook Road at 9:00am on Sunday 22 January.

Residents are encouraged to bring binoculars or telescopes, something to eat and drink, and stout footwear and waterproofs.

Rangers kindly request that dogs are left at home for this event. For more information, call the Rangers on 01744 677 772.
