People from across Chorley are invited to take part in a Remembrance Sunday service to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives serving our country.
The Mayor of Chorley, Councillor Mark Perks, will join members of the Council for a service at St Laurence’s Parish Church on Sunday 12 November.
A procession, led by Chorley Pipe Band, will parade from St Thomas’s Road at 9.40am, into High Street, Cleveland Street and Union Street for the service at St Laurence’s Church at 10am.
Following the service, the procession will proceed to Astley Park where Chorley Silver Band will play before a short service begins at 10.55am. Following a two minute silence, the Mayor will lay a wreath on the Cenotaph in memory of those who have lost their lives.
The Mayor said: “On such an important day, I encourage as many people as possible to attend the service and come together as a community to remember those who have lost their lives defending our nation.”
