“The Chef Show”, Ragged Edge Productions

The Arts Centre, Burscough Wharf

Sunday 15 January 2017, 7.30pm

A brand new theatre show that is part play and part cookery demonstration will visit Burscough this January.

“The Chef Show”, from Ragged Edge Productions, will travel to The Arts Centre in Burscough Wharf on Sunday 15 January at 7.30pm. Tickets for the show are available directly from the venue and can be booked by calling 01704 896590.

The show, which features a local chef preparing food live on stage, will then tour to five further venues across the county as part of Spot On Lancashire’s spring season of touring, taking professional arts events to village halls and libraries in the region.

Father and son, Abdul and Kamal, are having a particularly busy night in their restaurant. As they struggle to deal with all of the customers ‘out front’ and the staff in the kitchen they also have to decide on the future of the curry house. Will Kamal carry on the family business, or is this the end?

The cast of the show are joined on stage by a chef from your very own local Indian restaurant – who will be offering a spicy cookery demonstration. All to be followed by a chance to share food and conversation with your local chef and the cast.

The local chef selected for the Burscough performance will come from The Curry Leaf Cottage on Moss Lane. The play is written by Nick Ahad and directed by Stefan Escreet.

Speaking ahead of the show, Spot On’s Sue Robinson said:

“We’ve been working on bringing this brilliantly original show to Lancashire for some time and we can’t wait to see what audiences make of it. We love the involvement of chefs from local restaurants at each venue and the combination of great food and quality performance makes for an all round fantastic night out. Snap up those tickets before they all go!”

In February the show will tour to the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham, The Centre @ Halton, The Rainhall Centre in Barnoldswick, Dunsop Bridge Village Hall and The Bureau in Blackburn, all through Spot On.
