Wigan Borough will be celebrating a Summer of Culture this year with a programme of events running through to September.
Wigan Council has partnered up with organisations and community groups to celebrate the wealth of culture, creativity and heritage the borough has to offer from showcasing concerts, plays, art exhibitions and more.
Leader of the council, Councillor David Molyneux said: “Wigan Borough really does have so much to offer around arts and culture. Places like Leigh Turnpike and The Old Courts are really innovative in how they engage with visitors to provide them with experiences to remember.
“We want even more people to engage with cultural activities so it’s about time we harnessed all the great work taking place borough-wide and compiled it into a programme like this.
“We’re so excited about the range of activities taking place right the way through to September because it’s so varied. Whether you’re after a family activity, want to learn a new skill or would like to attend a thought provoking festival, there really is something for everyone.”
Alternatively, hard copies are available at major supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco, local Start Well centres, libraries and sports centres in the borough.
