Sporting Challenge celebrate funding award

0

Sporting Challenge are celebrating a £750 grant from The Rank Foundation. This grant of £750 is to support our Lake District Short break for young adults with learning disabilities coming up in September.

The registered charity was set up in 2008 by a group of parent carers to provide sporting activities for around 40 people with learning disabilities to keep them fit and healthy.

The Activities take place across West Lancashire during the evening and sometimes at weekends.

Edward McCarthy Sporting Challenge Activities Co-ordinator said: “The funding award is fantastic news and helps fund our planned short break later in the year. We are going to go to the Calvert Trust Centre near Keswick for an activities based weekend. Our group will really enjoy such a break, and at the same time their families will be also to be able to have a short break too from their carer duties.”
