On Saturday 30th June, Stocks Hall Skelmersdale Home held their popular Summer Fayre for people living at the Home, relatives, staff and the local community.
An afternoon of exciting entertainment unfolded, beginning with professional singer and artist Golden Aged Songbird performing breath-taking memorable hits from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
As cool refreshments flowed and the smell of freshly cooked BBQ filled the air, guests relaxed together in the Home’s manicured gardens. Many stalls offered everything from cakes to ice creams and fun filled activities. As the weather was so beautiful and the sun shone all day, the bouncy castle was also a popular choice for the children attending the Fayre.
Filling the garden with roars of cheers, applause and colourful costumes, guests were also treated to a spectacular performance from a very talented group of local cheerleaders. Dauntless Cheer was their name, a group who describe themselves as ‘Bold, Brave, Fearless and Fierce’. They wowed the audience with their impressive routines containing components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers and stunting.
Ultra Ballroom performers, Carol (a nurse at the Skelmersdale Home) with Tommy her husband closed the afternoon’s busy schedule of fun-packed entertainment. Dressed in their striking, elegant ballroom attire, the couple prepared to showcase their very own Ultra Ballroom routine dancing the Waltz sequence.
Activities Staff, Mark said “Everyone has had a great day, it’s very clear to see. So many smiles, laughter and joy all around. The turnout was fantastic and community spirit was high, with both new and seasoned visitors to the Home enjoying themselves.”
“Our Summer Fayre has been a truly special and memorable day.”
