Do you know somebody who could benefit from Sefton’s popular Home Library service?

Set up to help residents who can no longer get to their local library for health reasons, the Sefton Council Home Library Service is asking if more people want to sign up to the service.

Lesley Davies, Development Manager at Sefton Libraries Service, said: “Sefton’s Home Library Service is for less able members of the Sefton community, who may be unable to get to a local library due to age or ill health.

“To use the service people do not have to be housebound. They may, for instance, have difficulty walking, making use of public transport, or just carrying their books.”

Users of the service include Mrs Lilian Dash, a sprightly 102 year old and an avid reader, who loves to receive her library books each month.

Lilian really looks forward to the monthly visit by Rita Addison, who has volunteered for the library service for over 28 years.

To find out more about this free service, please contact your local library or email library.service@sefton.gov.uk.
