A Warrington store will be throwing its doors open in the middle of the night to meet demand for the latest version of video game Call Of Duty.

Black Ops 3 goes on sale at the stroke of midnight, early on Friday November 6 – and staff at Game in Golden Square Shopping Centre are promising a night to remember.

They are expecting a massive response from Call of Duty fans – the last version saw scores of shoppers queuing out of the door for its midnight release.

Manager Adam Ellison has been planning a night of fun and frenzy for those gaming fans who can’t wait to get their hands on a copy.

He said: “We’ll all be dressed up in camouflage gear and it should be a good atmosphere. There will be six or seven people on duty to make sure everyone gets served and we do it like a raffle.

“The store will be open from 11pm on November 5 and people can come in and pay for the game and be given a raffle ticket.

“Once it turns midnight, they can just take their ticket to the till and collect a copy so that way it is quicker for everyone.”

The 34-year-old has been with Game for 11 months and he knows there will be plenty of fans eager to snap up the latest offering from the Call Of Duty stable.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 is set in a dark, gritty future and the video action game, Call Of Duty, will go on sale at exactly one minute past midnight although long queues are expected from the evening before.

The first-person game uses cutting-edge military robotics and features three different game modes with one including an option for added zombies.

On the night the team at Game will dressed up as space troopers, and senior salesman Chris Halliday is one of those looking forward to the special event as well as the latest game.

Having played all of the previous editions he knows how appealing the series of combat games are and says a big rush can be expected in Golden Square on November 6.

He said: “The main reason Call Of Duty is so popular is because of the online side of it. You can go online and play people all over the world and it gets really competitive.

“That’s what people really like about it.”

Golden Square Shopping Centre director Ian Cox said: “Opening the centre at midnight for such product launches is a bit of a military operation in itself, to ensure that it all goes smoothly.

“In the past when we have had other midnight openings for similar launches, it’s been fun with a great atmosphere – a lot of those coming down do dress up in Army surplus gear, which all adds to the enjoyment.”

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 will go on sale at 00.01 on November 6 at Game in Golden Square Shopping Centre and can be pre-ordered instore from now up to three days before the release.
