A man has been rescued by police and fire crews after he had become caught upside down by his foot from a basketball hoop. Police were called to Cal Anderson Park in Seattle following reports that a shirtless man with a hammer was hanging from the hoop.
Two firefighters brought along a ladder and the man was helped down, although he was then swarmed on by the police officers.
The Seattle Police Department later tweeted ‘He may be arrested for property destruction, or at least goal-tending.’
The incident followed May Day protests which had been taking place in the city.
