Man is rescued after getting foot caught in basketball hoop

A man has been rescued by police and fire crews after he had become caught upside down by his foot from a basketball hoop. Police were called to Cal Anderson Park in Seattle following reports that a shirtless man with a hammer was hanging from the hoop.

Two firefighters brought along a ladder and the man was helped down, although he was then swarmed on by the police officers.

The Seattle Police Department later tweeted β€˜He may be arrested for property destruction, or at least goal-tending.’

The incident followed May Day protests which had been taking place in the city.
