Man, 55, dies following Wesham collision

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in Wesham.

Police were called to Fleetwood Road around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 2) after a silver BMW 320 was involved in a collision close to AFC Fylde Football Club.

The driver of the vehicle, a 55-year-old man from Blackpool, was found unresponsive and taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment but sadly died.

The road was closed for close to two hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Lancashire Police are appealing for information and urging any witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway after a 55-year-old man died following a collision in Wesham.

“This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the driver’s family at this difficult time.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“If you witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicle in the moments before the collision, please call us.”
