Information appeal made after burglary at a shop in Skelmersdale

An appeal for information has been made by police after thieves have broken into a shop in Skelmersdale and have stolen £3,000 from a cash machine inside. At about 10:50pm on Wednesday 21st January, offenders have broken in through the roof of an unused business premises on the Winsters in Old Skelmersdale. The offenders have removed bricks from an adjoining internal wall and they have gained access into the neighbouring Premier Store, which had been unoccupied at the time. Once they were inside they have cut through the back of the cash machine and have stolen approximately £3,000 in cash.

DC Jo Collinson of Skelmersdale CID said ‘If anybody saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the shop around the time of the burglary or has any information that could assist with our investigation I would urge them to contact us. Similarly, if you have seen anyone with an unusually large amount of £10 notes in their possession, I would ask that you get in touch with us.’
