Nearly 70 students from St Cuthbert’s Catholic Community College have had their own version of a Grimms’ fairy tale published.
Pupils from years 7, 8 and 9 all penned short stories in their English lessons for the ‘Talent for Writing’ young writers competition. The brief was a mini-saga based on the traditional Grimm fairy stories.
The stories will now all be included in a book called `Grim Tales – Cheshire and Merseyside` which will be sent to the British Library and libraries across the UK and Ireland – providing a lasting record of their achievement.
All the students who took part will receive bookmarks and certificates, while their stories will be submitted to the next stage of the competition – putting the school in line for a national award and the chance to win cash prizes.
