Hundreds of families made their way to this year’s Winter Playday on Wednesday which was jam packed with fun activities and demonstrations.

Chorley Council hosted the event in the Lancastrian alongside partners who support young people’s health to deliver a day full of fun in February half term.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council said: “We put on the Winter Playday each year and we love seeing families come together to enjoy the many activities available.

“We co-delivered the event with others who provided fun activities, demonstrations and information. All of the families that attended loved browsing the stalls available and had a great time watching the demonstrations from the magician and Chorley Gymnastics Club.

“There were hundreds of people who attended the event and enjoyed all of the fun that was on offer.

“We love putting on events in Chorley for our locals and visitors from further afield and we can’t wait to see how successful our other events will be this year.”

At the event there was an array of exciting stalls, including; arts and crafts, clay modelling, games, fitness with Active Nation and first aid with Chorley’s Angels. Also there to provide visitors with information was Duxbury Golf club, Lancashire Adult Learning and Homestart.

Plus, visitors were treated with spectacular demonstrations from a local magician, Chorley Gymnastics Club and Gillies Mar-Jan Dance School.
