With Christmas and New Year to look forward to, there’s always that little bit of confusion in households about recycling and waste collections.
There will be three weeks of affected dates over the holidays, but there’s no need to anxiously wait to see which bins your neighbours are putting out.
Read on to see what to put out and when, as listed on your personalised calendar. A sticker will also have been placed on your bin, outlining the dates.
Remember to have your waste ready for collection from 6:30am.
In the week leading up to Christmas (week commencing Monday 19 December) all collections will be earlier than usual. If your normal collection is Monday 19 December for recycling and brown bin, the collection will be Saturday 17 December. For the rest of the week (up until Friday 23 December) all collections will occur a day earlier.
Then, in the week leading up to New Year’s Day collections will be one day later than usual (27-30 December). If your normal collection would be Monday 26 December, your collections for recycling and brown bin occur on Friday 23 December.
The following week (commencing Monday 2 January) all collections will be one day later than usual, after which normal service resumes.
Please refer to your collection calendar to avoid confusion. It is important that you use all the services during these weeks to avoid a build-up of recycling and waste to allow for a smooth collection when normal service resumes.
Residents are reminded that green bin collections will restart week commencing 27 February 2017.
