0

Inspiring children and young people from Lancashire can now be nominated to receive a recognition award.

PROUD will recognise the successes and contributions made by children and young people who are currently being looked after, or have been previously.

Achievements in their own lives and helping others will be recognised by the PROUD awards.

Nominations are already open and will close on Wednesday 30 November. People can nominate online by visiting www.lancashirechildrenstrust.org.uk and then searching for PROUD 2017.

Young people can be nominated individually or in groups in the following five award categories:

• Positive choices and achievements
• Responding to the needs of others
• Outstanding service to the community
• Unique talent
• Danny Collins inspiration award

County Councillor Matthew Tomlinson, cabinet member for children, young people and schools, said: “We know that many children and young people have overcome, and will continue to overcome, significant difficulties in their lives.

“If you know someone amazing like this who you think deserves special recognition, this is your chance to reward that and to nominate them for an award.

“Whatever the achievement, whether it’s caring for someone, helping out in the community, overcoming personal hardship, volunteering or showing outstanding spirit or sporting or artistic talent, please make sure you tell us about it.”

Everyone who is nominated will receive a congratulatory letter and a certificate of recognition.
