New bus service for Edge Hill students

0

St Helens students attending Edge Hill University will still be able use public transport to get to and from the college.

The established 319 service between St Helens and Ormskirk was terminated by bus operator South Lancs Travel at the beginning of April – leaving some students facing difficult journeys to get to their studies.

Now though – after lobbying by St Helens Council members, officers and Merseytravel – the 352 St Helens to Rainford service will be extended – three times a day – to take in the university.

The new service will run for one year – but both the council and Merseytravel are committed to seeking negotiations that will provide a long term solution for travelling students.

The new bus service will connect St Helens with the university three times a day – arriving at Edge Hill at 07.56, 12.51 and 16.21
