Art workshop at Central Library

0

Artist Jeni McConnell is inviting people to join her for a day of free art workshops in St. Helens Central Library on Saturday 30 May.

The session is part of St. Helens Council’s Cultural Hubs quality arts in libraries project and the Heart of Glass’ Your Name Here project – which offers people the chance to nominate someone to be commemorated permanently by having a park in St Helens named after them.

Jeni will also give people an opportunity to chat about who they might be interested in nominating and why. The day will have a family-friendly focus in the morning so bring your children and grandchildren down between 10am – 12.30pm. The afternoon session between 1pm – 3pm is aimed at encouraging adults to take part.

St Helens Council’s Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing, Councillor Andy Bowden, said: “Your Name Here is a distinctive project and a great way to engage people in the arts.  These workshops will be a super opportunity for people to visit Central Library, take part in a fun art activity and talk about who they might be interested in naming the park after.”
