Skelmersdale Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Skelmersdale.
The incident occurred at around 11pm on Friday September 22nd on Feltons, when the two male victims, aged 32 and 35, were approached by four other men and ordered to hand over money. When one of the victims refused he was threatened with a craft knife-type weapon.
He attempted to disarm the offender who was holding the knife, at which point a second offender slashed him to his lower back, causing a minor cut.
The victims then fled the scene.
The four male offenders are described as around 5ft 5ins tall, or shorter, and all wearing dark clothing with hoods up and their faces covered. They all spoke with local accents.
The weapons are described as craft or wallpaper knives that did not appear to have handles.
DC Peter Macdonald, of Skelmersdale Police, said: “The victim has been left shaken after being threatened and suffering a slash wound to his back. Thankfully his injuries have not required further treatment.
“We would now like to hear from anyone with information which can help with our enquiries. Maybe you know who the offenders might be, or perhaps you were in the area at the time and saw something suspicious.
“If you know anything at all we would like to hear from you.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting log number 1733 of September 22nd.
